Lemon Strawberry White Sangria

This was a big hit at our 4th of July summer party this year, but I warn you....it will get you drunk... feeling good. Now here's why:

Ingredients
2-3 bottles Riesling and/or Moscato (depending on number of people)
1 cup to 1 1/2 cups rum (I used capt morgan)
2 lemons
3 cups bing cherries
1 pkg strawberries
2 peaches
1 apple
*you can use really whatever fruit you have on hand

I used 2 bottles Riesling and 1 bottle Moscato, but that was only because I originally thought the 2 bottles would be enough but once in the punch bowl I realized I needed just 1 more bottle. I cut up about 3 cups cherries, halved and pitted. The strawberries as well are cut in half or quartered depending on size. I sliced the peaches, apples, and lemons and tossed everything in the bowl. At first I added only 1 cup of rum but on tasting decided it needed just a tad more. I have to say this was really really good especially since our party fell on a day where it felt like 105 degrees outside. I made it even more interesting by serving this with my grandma's old mason jars. This is SUPER easy and it really really good!!

Chocolate Crack

Pin It It's been a very long time since I have blogged about anything, life gets busy and unfortunately the cooking blog goes to the wayside; however that does not mean I haven't been cooking!!

Now this recipe is amazing and it is so addicting!!! I make it now at least once a week!

Ingredients:
40+ saltine crackers
bag of choc chips (or pb chips, butterscotch, or combo of all)
2 sticks of butter
1 cup light brown suger

*you can also use pretzels instead of saltines, just as good!!!

Place saltines on a greased baking sheet, its about 40, just fill to cover the pan.

Preheat oven to 350. Take a small saucepan and melt the butter and brown sugar. Stir frequently and after about 5 minutes the sugar will be completely dissolved and it will became a thicker consistincy. Then pour mixture over crackers.

Don't worry if it's not completely covered, the mixture will spread in the oven. Place pan in the oven for 10 minutes until bubbly.

Sprinkle chocolate chips over mixture and wait a few minutes for it to melt. Once slightly melted spread the chocolate over the cracker mixture until covered. Let cool and then just break apart. They won't break apart nicely, but honestly once you try this you won't care!!
